Corsica in Picture #9 : the village of Poggio di Nazza

The village of Poggio di Nazza

This week, we invite you to take a visual journey through the charming village of Poggio di Nazza (Northern Corsica). These photos, taken on a beautiful January afternoon in 2025, capture the serene atmosphere under a winter’s blue sky.

Poggio di Nazza is a small village located on the eastern coast of Corsica. To reach it from Ghisonaccia and its surroundings, one must follow the winding roads up into the mountains, arriving at the village after about half an hour’s drive. Comprising several hamlets, this village is home to approximately 180 residents. Like many other villages along the eastern coast facing the Tyrrhenian Sea, Poggio di Nazza offers a stunning vantage point to the east, overlooking citrus groves and vineyards.

Poggio di Nazza is a village where visitors are inclined to stop and admire the view, enjoy the tranquillity, and perhaps have a drink in the quaint café that has retained a certain old-world charm. Nestled in a region where nature still reigns, the village is also traversed by the “Mare e Monti” hiking trail, which stretches from Sollaro to Ghisoni.
