The tourist office of Zonza and Santa Lucia di Porto Vecchio officially opened the new coastal path Capu di Fora – Villata in the summer of 2024. A New way to discover the Gulf of Pinarello.

The path, just over 4 km long and with practically no elevation change (50 meters), is ideal for a leisurely walk. However, it is not recommended for children under 10 years old and, as repeatedly stated here and elsewhere, must be tackled with appropriate equipment (especially shoes)! This path offers a new way to discover the Gulf of Pinarello, passing through Capu di Fora, a crossing point that provides a breathtaking view of the gulf and the surrounding territory.

It is possible to see the island of Pinarello, 60 meters from the shore. Included in the coastal conservation area, this protected natural site covers 19 hectares and hosts a Genoese tower. Built around 1595, it has been restored by the Conservatoire du Littoral. Then there are the dunes of Villata, an exceptional natural site protected by the Natura 2000 program.

The opening of this path is just the first step in the enhancement of the coastline of the two municipalities: “the next step will be to extend this path to Punta Capicciola, opening new perspectives for all lovers of coastal walks. Ultimately, all 35 kilometers of our municipal coastline will be redeveloped and made accessible for walks and hikes,” explains the tourist office on Facebook.

Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or simply looking for a peaceful stroll by the sea, the Capu di Fora-Villata coastal path promises an unforgettable experience.
