@medievalesdelevie

Every year, the village of Levie (Livia in Corsican), nestled in the Alta Rocca region of Corsica, transforms into a genuine medieval town for an entire weekend. This cultural event, known as the Medieval Festival of Levie, attracts between 7,000 and 8,000 visitors eager to explore the wonders of this fascinating era.

A Historical Immersion

The Medieval Festival offers a unique experience where visitors can dive into the world of medieval Corsica. The program includes street performances, knights’ battles, costumed parades, as well as exhibitions on local historical themes, such as Corsican coats of arms or the medieval uses of plants.

Families will especially enjoy the children’s village, featuring traditional games and interactive workshops. History enthusiasts can marvel at reconstructions of medieval weapons, such as the Corsesque, or models of trebuchets.

Medieval Festival of Levie: A Community-Driven Event

Organized by the local association for Levie’s animation and promotion, this event thrives on the dedication of numerous volunteers. It is a true celebration of culture and heritage, where the entire village participates in bringing history to life.

The Medieval Festival of Levie is more than just a celebration; it is an invitation to step back in time and rediscover the traditions and craftsmanship of a bygone era. Ready to put on your medieval costume?
