If you’re planning to explore Porto-Vecchio, Bonifacio, and the surrounding villages from 2026 onwards, here’s something to know before you go: local bus fares will change — and it’s all about supporting the community that calls this beautiful corner of Corsica home.

Today, three lines connect Porto-Vecchio to Bonifacio, Monacia d’Aullène, and Santa Lucia di Porto-Vecchio, with between 4 and 8 daily departures depending on the season. Demand has grown sharply: nearly 14,000 passengers in the first eight months of 2025, compared to fewer than 8,000 in all of 2024.

What’s Changing?

From January 1, 2026, the A Berlina shuttle network will introduce a Resident Card (€10/year) for locals, giving them access to reduced fares. Visitors without the card will pay €10 per trip, including to Figari Airport. Weekly and monthly passes will also be available (€40/week, €150/month). Free travel introduced in 2024 for under-18s will remain — but only for residents. Visitors under 11 will continue to travel free.

Why It Matters

Local leaders want tourism to enhance the quality of life for residents while keeping public transport sustainable. By adjusting Porto-Vecchio Bonifacio bus fares, they aim to:

  • Keep buses affordable for year-round inhabitants
  • Manage seasonal crowding
  • Maintain a reliable, eco-friendly alternative to driving

How to Plan Ahead

  • Budget for transport: factor in the new fare when planning your itinerary
  • Use the bus: it’s still one of the most scenic and low-impact ways to travel between coastal towns
  • Travel off-peak: mornings and late afternoons are quieter, giving you more space to enjoy the ride

Think of your bus ticket as more than a ride — it’s a direct contribution to local mobility. By choosing public transport, you help reduce traffic, emissions, and the strain on small-town infrastructure.
